Manual attendance tracking is a method of recording employee working hours and productivity through Manual Clock-in and Clock-out processes.
This article explains how Manual Attendance Tracking works, its differences from Project-Based Attendance Tracking, and the roles of Admins, Managers, and Employees in the process.
Manual Attendance Tracking: Key Points
Manual attendance tracking requires employees to manually clock in and clock out to start and end their work sessions.
Insightful starts recording time and tracking productivity when an employee clocks in and stops when they clock out.
Manual attendance tracking provides data on employee work hours, idle time, app and website usage, and screenshots.
Admins and managers can view employee attendance data on the Insightful dashboard without any additional setup.
Employees can access the Clock-in/Clock-out button and their shift information on their Insightful widget.
When an employee is Clocked in, Insightful records every app and website visited, time spent Idle and Screenshots. Once an employee is Clocked out, these features are not recorded.
Manual vs Project-Based Attendance tracking
Project-Based Tracking
Insightful tracks Employee Attendance and Productivity data through Projects and Tasks.
It analyzes and records computer activities and attendance when a Task Timer is active on the employee's Time-Tracking Widget.
Attendance and Computer activities are only tracked when an employee starts a Task Timer within the Time Tracking Widget. Insightful will then analyze and record this data, along with the time spent on each task.
