Setting up Time Format and Time Zone in Insightful ensures consistency and readability for the time data displayed across your organization's dashboards. This is particularly important for organizations with remote workforce or teams operating in different time zones.

Setting up Time Format

You can set up the 12-hour or 24-hour format for displaying time across Insightful software.

Access time format settings by clicking on your username on the bottom left and selecting Personal Settings. Select the Time tab and choose your preferred time format. After selecting the desired option, make sure to click on the Save Changes button.

If a user belongs to multiple companies and sets a specific time format in one organization, that preference will be applied across all organizations the user is associated with.

Setting up Time Zone

Insightful software collects time zone data from the device it is installed and used on.

You can set up Insightful to show collected data in two different ways:

  • Organizational Time Zone - translate all time data (e.g. schedules, work hours, etc.) into the organization's pre-selected preferred time zone.

  • Time Zone of Your Employees - maintain employee time zones and display data timestamps exactly as recorded on their devices.

You can access personal Time Zone settings by clicking on your username on the bottom left and selecting Personal Settings → Localization tab. After selecting the desired option make sure to click on the Save Changes button.

Employees will still see the data themselves (if permitted to) in their own time zone even if you select the Organizational Time Zone option - the setting applies to what you're viewing on your end.

Managing and Updating the Organizational Time Zone

Admin can update the Organizational Time Zone from the dropdown menu on the Settings → Organization page. However, this change can only be made once every 24 hours, as it takes time to recalculate the company’s historical data.

After historical data is recalculated, admins and managers will receive a notification confirming that the Organizational Time Zone has been successfully updated.

All users can easily see and understand the selected organizational time zone, as it is clearly displayed in the calendar component of the date picker. The description will indicate the time zone, such as UTC-5 (EST).
