Organizational Groups are here

As teams grow, org charts get messy. Departments overlap. People work across initiatives. Managers need visibility that doesn’t map neatly to a single team anymore. That’s why this month, we’re introducing Organizational Groups.

A better way to reflect how your organization actually works

Until now, Insightful relied on teams as the primary way to organize people. But teams alone don’t represent departments, regions, or cross-functional squads.

Organizational Groups add a flexible layer on top of teams, so you can model your real structure without changing how work is already set up.

With Organizational Groups, you can:

  • Group multiple teams and individual employees together

  • Create business units, departments, regions, or cross-functional initiatives

  • Assign entire groups to managers in one step

  • Filter reports with flexibility

Teams stay the same. Your structure gets smarter.

Built for scale, available to everyone

Organizational Groups are available on all plans, including trial, and don’t introduce new permissions or complexity. Admins stay in control, managers get a clearer scope, and reporting finally aligns with how leadership views the business. If your organization has outgrown rigid team-only structures, this update is for you.
