🐛 Fixes

✨ New Features

Productivity Labels: bulk labeling from search results. Search for apps and websites in Settings > Productivity > Apps & Websites, then use Select All to label every matching result in one step. Clearing the search resets the selection, and larger bulk updates are supported.

HRIS PTO Synchronization: now available to every organization. Approved PTO entries from your connected HRIS now sync automatically into Insightful, improving the accuracy of time tracking and utilization without manual entry. PTO sync is now available to every organization: it's enabled by default for new HRIS integrations, and admins can turn it on for an existing integration from its Configuration tab. Supported integrations: BambooHR, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, HiBob, Humaans, Sage HR, Keka, HR Partner, and Simployer.

🔧 Improvements

Desktop agent: fewer local network prompts. The local network permission prompt now appears on far fewer installations, so employees run into it less often.

Desktop agent: Workflows support. The desktop agent now supports Workflows, so workflow tracking works alongside the rest of the activity it captures.

Desktop agent: time zone changes tracked during a shift. A time zone change that happens mid-shift is now recorded with a shift flag, keeping shift and task timing consistent across time zone offsets.

Desktop agent: clearer names in the widget. Long task names now show a tooltip when the text is truncated, so the full name is always available. Project, task, and company names display exactly as entered, without automatic capitalization changes.

🐛 Fixes

Scheduled shifts: times shown in the employee's time zone. Scheduled shift start and end times now display in the employee's time zone across scheduled shifts, timesheets, timelines, and schedule adherence views.

Utilization: accurate after a scheduled shift is deleted. Utilization now recalculates correctly after a scheduled shift is deleted, showing N/A on days with no remaining schedule instead of 0%.

🔧 Improvements

Absenteeism and lateness alerts: approved PTO taken into account. Absenteeism and lateness alerts now recognize approved PTO, so employees on planned time off are no longer flagged. Attendance signals stay focused on absences that need attention.

CSV exports: higher row limit CSV exports now support a higher row limit, so larger data sets come through in a single file.

Desktop agent: lower CPU usage on macOS. The background process for tracking on macOS is more stable and uses less CPU, so employee machines stay responsive while Insightful runs.

🐛 Fixes

Reports and Activity Logs: crashes resolved. Report highlights on Work Types, the AI Adoption Report heatmap, and teams views, reports overview table actions, line charts, the Workload Distribution health trend, and the Activity Logs page no longer cause the app to break. Nothing looks different; these areas are simply more stable.

Absenteeism alerts: no unwarranted alerts. Absenteeism alerts are no longer sent in situations that do not warrant one.

Time and Attendance: auto clock-out after long idle gaps. Auto clock-out now triggers correctly after a long idle gap, so sessions no longer stay open indefinitely.

Outlook integration: employee email matching. The Outlook integration now matches employee emails regardless of letter case, so employees are no longer missing from it.

Email reports: weekly reports and test emails delivered. Weekly email reports and test emails now reach recipients who previously received nothing.

🔧 Improvements

Workflow Optimization: activity-based reporting fallback. Workflows that do not support closed-period data now default to activity-based reporting. Dashboards and shared links no longer lead to empty results.

Workflow Optimization: consistent time formatting. Time values now use one consistent format across workflow pages, tables, charts, paths, and exports.

Workflow Optimization: Avg. Workflow / Day column. The employee performance table now includes an optional Avg. Workflow / Day column. Apps & Websites, Categories, and Tags stay hidden by default until you turn them on.

🐛 Fixes

Workflow Optimization: re-enabled KPIs appear in Preview right away. KPIs that you switch back on now show up in Preview immediately, without a reload.

Workflow Optimization: download notifications match your terminology. Download notifications now use the task, sub-task, and session terminology configured for your organization.

Workflow Optimization: steadier navigation and layout. Sub-task navigation and breadcrumbs stay in sync, long workflow titles and breadcrumb paths are easier to read, and Workflow Path no longer shows an unnecessary scrollbar when collapsed.

Workflow Optimization: more reliable session pages. Activity dots appear on the calendar again, CSV exports match what you see in the interface, and session start times align with the first recorded activity.

Workflow Optimization: correct access for scoped managers. Managers with team or org-group scope now see workflow cards and pages correctly when data is available.

API: steadier employee creation. Creating employees through the API is more reliable and less likely to hit duplicate conflicts after an email search returns no results.

Projects, task details, and productivity labels: crashes resolved. Actions on the Projects page, task details, and productivity labels no longer cause the app to break. Nothing looks different; these areas are simply more stable.

Fullscreen mode, office auto detection, and scope selection: crashes resolved. Fullscreen mode, office auto detection, and scope selection menus no longer cause the app to break.

🔧 Improvements

Workflows: employee avatars on workflow records. Workflow records now display up to three employee avatars, with the full list of assigned employees shown on hover.

🐛 Fixes

Notifications: stable panel when the list is empty. Changing a notification's status no longer causes an error when the notifications list is empty.

Workflows: Avg. Time follows your time format setting Avg. Time on workflow cards now follows your personal time format setting and matches the workflow tables.

Employee Timesheets and Time & Attendance: date tooltips stay accurate when switching views. Date tooltips keep working when you switch between Day View and Shift View, so tooltip content displays correctly.

Employee details: page stays accessible after configuration changes. Employee details pages remain accessible after saving configuration changes, with the Employee widget available again.

🔧 Improvements

API: employee lookup by email. Employees can now be looked up directly by email through the API, so a single lookup no longer requires pulling the full employee list.

Employee and Team pages: calendar-aware default widgets. When calendar data is available, Employee and Team pages now default to Daily Average Work Time, Daily Average Productive Time, Utilization %, and Daily Average Meeting Time. Customized widget layouts are unchanged.

Usage reports: combined totals across apps. Per-employee usage reports now support multiple apps at once, so web and desktop usage for the same tool can be combined into a single total.

Time format: thousands separators for large hour totals. Large hour totals now include a thousand separator, so 8,392h 27m is easier to scan than 8392h 27m.

Employee Timesheets and Time & Attendance: view toggle in the filter bar The Day View and Shift View toggle now sits in the filter bar, making it quicker to switch between views.

Alerts: opens on the Logs tab. Alerts now open on the Logs tab, with the Type column shown and the Computer column hidden by default.

Insightful MCP Server: Admin approval is required by default. Read-only MCP access is off by default for every organization, and only an admin can enable it. This gives admins full control over when external AI applications can connect.

🐛 Fixes

Manager settings: dialogs open reliably with Data Visibility Manager dialogs now open for organizations that use Data Visibility without Productivity Labeling, and the setting stays locked on as expected.

Tables and dialogs: stale tooltips resolved. Tooltips now close cleanly when their view changes, which removes stale tooltip content and related crashes in tables and dialogs.

Home page: background requests cleaned up. Leaving the Home page no longer leaves requests that fire on other pages behind.

Spanish locale fixes: Resolved Spanish locale issues in absence handling, Schedule Adherence, and the lateness threshold setup.

Dashboards: accurate full-month comparisons. Selecting a full month now compares against the previous full month, and the dashboard label matches that range.

Real-Time Insights: long team names truncate cleanly. Long team names now truncate inside their column instead of pushing other columns out of alignment.

Insightful MCP Server: cleaner authorization screen. The read-only MCP permission row on the authorization screen no longer wraps awkwardly next to its toggle, so the permission is easier to read.

🧪 Early Access

Insightful MCP Server Connect Insightful to AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT and get answers from your own workspace data in plain language. Access is read-only, follows each user's existing Insightful permissions, and stays off until an admin enables it under Settings > Security > Connected Apps. Now available in Early Access to all customers on all plans; see the setup guide to get started.

August 4, 2026

🔧 Improvements

Automatic app refresh after platform updates. If a page fails to load right after a platform update, the app now shows a brief update notice and refreshes itself automatically, so you can keep working without reloading the page manually.

🐛 Fixes

Home screen loading fix: The home screen no longer fails to load in rare cases when session data has been cleared or is unavailable.

August 3, 2026

🔧 Improvements

Faster loading through compressed data transfer. Platform and API responses are now compressed, so large data requests transfer less data and pages, and reports load more quickly.

Productivity Labels: faster processing of label changes. When you update productivity labels for apps and websites, the changes are now processed more efficiently, so your updated data is reflected sooner.
