Analyzing Shift Data and understanding employee productivity is crucial for effective workforce management. Insightful's Dashboard offers tools to monitor key metrics like undertime, overtime and completed shifts, helping managers optimize productivity and make informed decisions.

Where to Find Shift Data

Shift-related information can be found in several sections of the dashboard:

Key Information to Monitor

When analyzing shift data, pay attention to the following key metrics:

  • Undertime: Indicates that an employee's actual work time (including tolerance) is less than the scheduled work time.

  • Overtime: Indicates that an employee's actual work time exceeds the scheduled work time.

  • Completed: Indicates that an employee has worked at least 7 hours but no more than 8 hours (assuming an 8-hour shift has a set 60-minute tolerance).

Work time vs. Scheduled time on Timeline tab

In the Activities → Timeline tab, you can analyze the work time recorded by Insightful and compare it to the shift set for your Employees. To get more specific data, you can set the timeframe and add filters to filter out specific Employees, and Teams, and choose whether you want to see employees with or without Scheduled Shifts.

Work time vs. Scheduled time on Employee page

Click on the desired employee's name in the Employees section and review their productivity on the Productivity tab. To narrow down the data, you can select a specific timeframe and filter to show only the days when shifts were scheduled. This will give you more specific data to analyze.

Employee Shift Management and further Analysis of metrics

Click on the desired employee's name in the Employees section and on the Scheduled Shifts tab you can choose the timeframe you want to analyze and review their Scheduled Shifts.

By hovering your mouse over a specific day, you can compare the time within the Schedule Shift with the actual Work Time. Additionally, you can see which days the employee was absent, had Overtime, Undertime, or worked the Expected time without hovering over the day. Moreover, you can schedule shifts using the Create Shift button located in the top right corner of the page within the page's top right corner.

Scheduled time on Real-Time Insights

Under the Real-Time Insights section, you can view the employees working outside their shifts in real time. This information will be available in the Clock-Out column.
