There are several ways to edit settings for your employees in Insightful. The way to do it will depend on whether you need to change settings for all your employees or for one individual or for few employees, but also on how flexible you need Insightful to be.
Shared tracking settings
One way to do it is by editing shared tracking settings that apply to all your employees and this can be done on the Settings → Tracking settings page.
This way of managing Insightful settings is best used when you have one major use case scenario for tracking all your employees.
Settings Templates
Another way to manage Insightful settings for your employees is to create Shared Settings templates on Settings → Tracking Settings → Add New button and apply them to whichever employee you need to.
You can have as many templates as you need and you can save unique settings per each template.
This way you can set Insightful application to run in Stealth mode for some employees, and in Visible mode for others. Or you can assign Projects and Tasks to several employees but not to all. These are just few examples.
These Templates can be used when you have a couple of use case scenarios for Insightful and then you can assign each one to desired employees. This can be done on the Employee Settings page by doing the following:
Click on Employees on the sidebar in your Insightful application.
Click on desired Employee name to get to their individual Employee page.
Click on Manage in the upper right corner of the page.
Clicking on Review Tracking Settings you will have the ability to Select shared tracking settings template by choosing it from the drop-down menu.

Individual Employee settings
You can also edit individual Employee settings which overrides the current shared tracking settings template and is applied on the individual employee level. The image below represents a notification that will stay in the upper right corner of the edited employee's settings page for as long as the shared tracking settings template remains overridden.
Every override you create now also appears as its own standalone Tracking Setting in the All tab of the Tracking Settings page, alongside your shared settings profiles. If you already had individual overrides set up before this update, they were automatically converted into standalone Tracking Settings with identical behavior preserved — no action was needed on your part. Employees who had multiple, identical overrides had these merged into a single new Tracking Setting.
You can assign individual settings to an employee by following the steps below:
Click on Employees on the sidebar in your Insightful application.
Click on the name of the employee you wish to apply specific settings to.
Click on Manage in the upper right corner of the page.
Clicking on Review Tracking Settings button will open settings window where you can edit and save settings.
If an employee's Tracking Setting is overridden individually, it takes priority over both the shared settings and their team's default Tracking Setting — changes made afterwards to either one won't automatically apply to that employee.
You can check and change which Tracking Setting is applied to any employee at any time from the new Employee tab on the Tracking Settings page — no need to open that employee's individual settings page.
Team-level defaults work the same way — see the Tracking Settings on the Teams tab section of Teams overview: Setup, Management, and Data for details.
Quick Employee Switching
The Individual Employee page includes an employee switching feature that allows Managers and Admins to quickly navigate between active employees without returning to the main Employees page.
By clicking on the employee's name, a search bar will appear displaying all active employees available within the user's scope.
This feature is not available on the Employee Dashboard view for Employees.
Employee tab
The Tracking Settings page includes an Employee tab, listing every employee together with the Tracking Setting currently assigned to them. From here, Managers (if they have the appropriate permission) and Admins can quickly see and change which Tracking Setting is assigned to any employee.
The assigned Tracking Setting is also visible as a column on the Employees table and on each employee's individual page, so you can check it without opening the Tracking Settings page at all.
