As operational and business priorities and requirements may change you might need to align your organizational and user settings within Insightful. These can be easily changed at any time in the application itself and will have an immediate effect on the affected users.
When it comes to changing the user type from Personal to Company and vice versa, however, this requires changing the installation as well.
Personal computer user to Company computer user
To have Personal computer user become Company computer user you need to do the following:
Uninstall the current Insightful app from their device (for instructions on how to do that please follow this guide).
Delete the workpuls-agent folder from their device.
To locate workpuls-agent folder on Windows type %appdata% in file manager’s address bar and on macOS copy paste this path in finder: ~/Library/Application Support/
In your Employee section, deactivate the user on three dots far right of the username → Deactivate Employee,
Go to Employees → Add new Employees → Company computer,
Get that installation file downloaded and send it to the user to install, or send them the URL link for them to download themselves,
After doing the last step you will see the user in your Employee section and it will be the company computer user
Company computer user to Personal computer user
Uninstall the current Insightful app from their computer, for instructions follow this guide.
Delete workpuls-agent folder located in AppData\Roaming
In your Employee section, deactivate the user on three dots far right of the username → Deactivate Employee
Go to Employees → Add new Employees → Personal computer,
Enter email address of the user,
User will receive the email and they will have to create their password, download, install and log in to the Insightful app. You can check more about employee steps on this link
If you wish for the user to work on two devices one being company another one personal skip the first two steps for both scenarios.
Data cannot be transferred from one user to another but having a user deactivated will still keep their previous data stored and accessible.
