In most cases, Insightful is updated automatically without requiring any user interaction. This process occurs silently in the background, ensuring that your application stays up-to-date with the latest features and security improvements. This automatic update mechanism is designed to minimize disruptions and keep the software running smoothly.
However, if you need to perform a manual update of the Insightful application on a company-managed device you are using, whether for troubleshooting or other reasons, you can do that as well. Please note that a person performing this action will need to have Administrator privileges on the targeted device.
Version checking
To understand if a device needs an update please check what version of Insightful Desktop App (a.k.a. Insightful Agent) is running on it and whether it is the latest one.
As an Admin, you can do that in the Agent version column on your Insightful application's Employees page.

macOS
Users of devices with MacOS will first need to uninstall the current Insightful version and then install the new one.
Windows OS
Update of Insightful Agent on a device with Windows OS will require the latest Insightful installation file. Organization's Admins (or users with the needed permissions) can get directly from their Insightful Dashboard.
Download Insightful Installation File
Go to Employees → Add New Employees
Select the Company Computer option.
From here you can either:
Download Insightful
Use this option if you will download the installation file directly to USB or to it via an internal file sharing service.
Copy & Paste Installation URL
Use this option if you need to share the Insightful Installation file with another member of your team, or even directly to employees.They will need to paste into their browser and hit Enter,
They will then be given an option to choose the Operating system,
They will need to click on the Windows icon to download the installation file so they can proceed with the steps below.
After the Download
Because you're updating Insightful (and not installing for the first time), you will want to follow the below listed steps:
Locate the Insightful Installation file on your computer (previously provided by your Admin)
Right click on the installation file
Choose Repair
After you have finished the Repair Process, please reboot your device and check the updated version of Insightful that is running (you can review one of the above listed guides for version checking).
Firewall Settings
If there is an active Firewall:
Please make sure to allow the following URLs through it:
Please also make sure to allow the connection to IP 34.96.85.57 through port 443.
Failed Update
If Repair option returns an Error message or you don't see the version number updated, please run the installation regularly by double clicking the package to start the installer.
