Insightful can be deployed manually to devices with macOS and the process will understand following different steps if the devices are owned by the company or personally by employees/users.
Important To Know When Adding New Employees & Devices
It's imperative that you select and use the right version (Company vs. Personal) of computers. Please see our Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy for more information.

We'll first walk you through the process for company computers and then for the personal ones.
Company computers
This process requires you to have access to the needed device(s) with Admin privileges on the them.
Prerequisites
Insightful Installation Code: Ensure you have the code provided by your Admin or, if you have permission enabled to access it, you can obtain it directly from the Insightful app by following these steps:
Go to Employees Dashboard.
Click on Add new Employee.
Select Company Computers.
Select macOS.
Copy the code you see using Copy Code.
Administrator Access: As mentioned - you need administrative privileges on the macOS devices to run the Insightful installation code.
Steps to follow
1. Launch the macOS Terminal in either of these two ways:
Open Terminal from the Applications → Utilities folder
Use Spotlight Search (Cmd + Space) and type Terminal, press Enter.
2. Paste the Insightful Installation Code (that you have obtained in either of the two ways described above) into the Terminal and press Enter to run the code.
3. You will be prompted to enter your macOS system admin password. Type it in and press Enter.
Notes
It is important to outline that quote signs in the code should not be the tilted ones so make sure to prevent that from happening when copying/pasting the code or the code wont work
Pasting a code with quote marks into some apps like Slack for example - will get the quote style automatically changes to tilted ones. Copying codes from such apps and pasting them further into the macOS Terminal will result with the codes not working as they should because the quote sign styles in them have been automatically changed into the tilted ones by the mentioned apps.
When typing the password, the typing itself is not visible as this is how macOS terminal works. If the password is incorrectly entered, you will see the Sorry, try again message.
4. Wait for the installation to be completed.
The code will provide installation status updates.
Upon installation completion - the application will run automatically.
Should any error messages pop up, review them for potential issues or required actions, or contact Insightful support for further assistance.
Silent Installation
The Insightful desktop application can be directly installed on company owned computers without user interaction or interface prompts. This method can be useful as it avoids disturbing the employees and makes the process faster.

Personal computers
Step 1: Obtain the Installation File
The first step will be different depending on who performs it - an Admin or a Manager with the needed permission on one hand, or a User/Employee on the other hand.
Admin/Manager view:
Click on Add New Employee.
Select Personal Computers.
Select macOS.
Click the download link for the .dmg file
Employee view:
Go to your Insightful dashboard and click Download in the left hand side menu, or click on the link that was provided to you by your Admin or Manager.
Select macOS.
Click the download link for the .dmg file.
Step 2: Run the installation
Locate the downloaded .dmg file, it will be most commonly in your Downloads folder (or wherever you saved it).
Double-click the .dmg file to open it.
Drag the Insightful application icon from the .dmg window to your Applications folder.
You can do this by:
Clicking and holding the application icon.
Dragging it to the Applications folder shortcut within the .dmg window or to the Applications folder in Finder.
Wait for the installation process to complete. This usually takes just a few moments.
Step 3: Open the Installed Application
Open the Applications folder in Finder and locate the newly installed application or use Spotlight Search (Cmd + Space) type Workpuls, and press Enter.
Double-click the application icon to launch it.
Prevent Installation Issues
Compatibility: Ensure that your macOS version meets the requirements for Insightful. Check the system requirements and compatibility information provided by Insightful here.
System permissions: If you encounter permission errors, make sure that you have set up all the necessary macOS permissions for the Insightful to be able to run properly on your device.
Browser: The first time every web browser is running on your Mac after installing Insightful, a prompt will pop up to allow access to the browser's data. Just click OK.
Firewall: If after the installation the employees don't appear on your dashboard, please make sure to check your network firewall settings as described in this article.
Switching from Personal to Company Computer Users and Vice versa
If at any point due to changing business requirements you need to change an Insightful set up from Personal to Company computer and vice versa - you can do that by following these instructions.
